Fall Fashions for 2009

Believe it; high-waisted pants and wide-legged jeans are making a coming back. Short-waisted coats are going to be in also, which would seemingly accent the high-waisted pants. Skirts and dresses are moving the hemline down to mid-calf area and to the ankle for taller women.

Dramatic make-up and jewelry like large hoop earrings, multi-layered necklaces, and wider bracelets will be back. Patent leather accessories, like belts and handbags, will be hot items as well. Fall colors will be an array of bright earth tones, yet your blacks and grays are here to stay as well as new modern plaid patterns. Cardigan sweaters are in with new, not so nerdy styles, and are much more comfortable. The hot hat for this fall is the beanie, available in a few new styles and many fall colors.

Whatever the fashion, you can never go wrong with a black pant suit, or power suit. Choose a softer fabric, nothing too stiff. No matter what the season, you should always have at least one nice white blouse in your closet. A white blouse can be worn under anything, such as a cardigan or a nice fitted jacket.

A must for fall is a pair of knee-high boots in dark brown or black, but not too shiny. These boots look great even with skirts or dresses. The heel shouldn't be more than two inches, to keep them comfortable. Other popular fall shoes are less open-toed, and the toe is more round than before. Pick up a fashion magazine at the end of the summer and see what you like.
