The Fall Fashion Trends for 2008 are out with the old and in with the… recycled? As always, looks come and go. This fall, cropped jackets are a must have. People have seen them before, but they are back in a big way. Longer coats have simpler, more architectural lines, with a tendency to mix fabrics.
In shoes, you will see fewer huge platforms and more pretty pumps. This does not mean platforms are gone for good.
Ankle high, laced up boots are in style, as well as knee high, slouchy boots. Ballet flats remain a staple for casual wear.
Baggy pants are in for fall, whether they are just loose fitting or really baggy pants, including boyfriend jeans. Not all women will find these looks flattering. Wear pants that suit your body type and you will look your best. Sequined pants are being shown for evening. Again, this is not a look for everyone. Dark denims and dark jewel tones are the fashion trend for pants.
Evening dresses, short and long, are being shown in heavy velvets and sequins. Flowered dresses are also being shown, below the knee. The looks are lean and structured with less of the bubble skirt look. Again, the colors are muted jewel tones.
The biggest trend in accessories is the statement necklace. Most designers showed their models wearing large, heavy pieces. Purses are a bit smaller, with the framed bag being the most popular. Enjoy the new fall styles and make them your own.
